Arlington, Va. (May 30, 2019) – Twelve women’s professional and elite teams will race Crystal City and Clarendon on June 1st and 2nd respectively. Racing will be kicked off with the Crystal Cup Saturday, a 60-minute race where they will complete approximately 30 laps. Day two will feature the 22nd Annual Clarendon Cup on a 1-km course and the women will complete 50 laps.

In the Women’s Pro 1/2 races, fans can expect to see a star-studded lineup led by the legendary Laura Van Gilder. She will be racing with the Fast Chance p/b The Happy Tooth team. Van Gilder is a longtime participant in the event with a dozen top three finishes, including first place in the 2017 Crystal Cup. She has been a perennial fan favorite since her first appearance here in Clarendon in 1999.

Kendall Ryan, the defending omnium champion, is returning. Ryan will be leading Team Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank and is the winner of the 2018 Crystal Cup. She has also finished 2nd on the podium at the Clarendon Cup four out of the last five years.

"This is my 7th year racing the Armed Forces Cycling Classic with Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank, and I'm looking forward to being back again in 2019,” said Kendall Ryan. “As a team, we have enjoyed a lot of success at this event, with 18 podiums and 7 victories. Our team has great depth and experience, and we're excited to be returning to the race and will be motivated to add some more results to our record here!"

Hagens-Berman Supermint will be back with Lindsay Goldman, multi-time winner of the Most Heroic Jersey at the Clarendon Cup. Goldman also considers the Armed Forces Cycling Classic her hometown race.
